History of the Indonesian Basketball League
The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) is the leading basketball league in Indonesia organized by the Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi).
IBL was founded in 2003 and has 12 clubs around Indonesia. The league has changed its name several times to restore its prestige and increase the number of matches.
In 2010, IBL changed its name to National Basketball League (NBL). Further, Perbasi appointed the Starting Five to organize the league in 2015. At the same time, the Starting Five decided to change the name back to the Indonesian Basketball League.
